Love Me, Save Me, Hold Me, Raise Me: Hello 40!!!!

Stories from the S.A.F.E. Space

Forty. Can you believe it?! I can hardly believe it. Here I am, on the cusp of a new decade, and I’m hitting pause — champagne in one hand, confetti in the other — to celebrate all I’ve survived, all I’ve learned, and all I’m still dreaming to do. This is my birthday reflection: a mix of gratitude, humor, celebration, and intention. And yes… it’s completely okayto dance a little while reading.

Love Me

First things first: love me. Every wild, messy, beautiful piece of me. Loving me means giving myself permission to celebrate my wins (and yes, there are many), forgive my missteps, and honor the journey that got me here. It’s about saying yes to joy, creativity, and a little sparkle every single day — because if I don’t love me, who else will hand me the party hat?

Save Me

Next up: save me. But here’s the truth — no one can really do it for me. The power to heal, thrive, and chase dreams lies within. Sure, I have support, guidance, and love around me, but stepping into 40 means claiming my own magic, my own growth, and my own damn spotlight. Cake included, of course.

Hold Me

Forty is also about letting myself be held. By friends, by family, by community… and yes, by cozy blankets and bubble baths too. Life is not meant to be carried alone. Holding me means receiving care, trusting others, and leaning into the moments that remind me vulnerability is strength — and maybe twirling a little while someone cheers me on.

Raise Me

Finally: raise me. Step aside, world — I’m ready to soar. To push boundaries, take creative risks, and keep building spaces where art, healing, and heart collide. Raising me means honoring my past, celebrating my wins (looking at you, 2024!), and stepping boldly into a new decade with purpose, joy, and maybe a little glitter in my hair.
